Angel Matute is a dedicated photographer based in Los Angeles, CA, with a diverse career that spans journalism and creative direction across Venezuela, Mexico, and the United States since 2010.

With a profound understanding of branding and the creative process, Angel specializes in crafting distinctive photography for his clients.

His portfolio includes collaborations with notable figures such as actress Emily Tosta, Latin Grammy Winner Diego Alvarez, and International Indigenous Hip Hop Awards winner She-Rōze.

In his fine art practice, Angel’s work is deeply influenced by critical social issues, immigration, and politics. As a journalist who has experienced political persecution and immigration firsthand, he brings a unique perspective to these topics.

In recognition of his talent and dedication, Angel Matute was a finalist in the 2023 William G. Ericson Foundation Photography Competition. He was also honored with the 2023 Visual Art and Media Studies (VAMS) Scholarship at Pasadena City College.

One of his notable projects, ‘90057,’ was featured in the exhibition Self-Service at The Boone Family Gallery in Pasadena until July 2023.
